Synopsis

The greatest love story ever told, starring...garden gnomes? In Gnomeo and Juliet, Shakespeare's revered tale gets a comical, off-the-wall makeover. Directed by Kelly Asbury (co-director of Shrek 2) and showcasing both classic and original songs by Elton John, the film features the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as Gnomeo and Juliet, who have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and thrilling lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find a happy ending?

Weekend Box Office - Aging Gnomes Top The Chart

Weekend Box Office - Aging Gnomes Top The Chart

This weekend Hollywood's elite gather to pat each other on the back and hand out awards to those among their ranks who they think have made the best contribution to filmmaking this year. In a sad twist, as they go about this business the movies that pull down Hollywood's batting average are staking out top spots at the box office. Things were so stagnant this weekend that three week old Gnomeo and Juliet floated to the top like a bloated corpse. ...

Weekend Box Office - Just Go Just Tops Justin

Weekend Box Office - Just Go Just Tops Justin

Justin Bieber is the hot ticket, right down to his snappy (and admittedly funny) Super Bowl spot. But a biopic movie about the latest artist to get cranked out by the music industry's pop machine wasn't big enough to take number one this weekend. Instead, Adam Sandler's latest offering Just Go With It narrowly beat the Bieber with $31 million to take the top spot. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never fell just shy into second place with $30 million. ...
