Guardians Of The Galaxy Synopsis
From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Marvel has experienced almost unparalleled success in the movie industry over the past half decade or so. At this point, the juggernaut isn’t losing any momentum either, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few warning signs: like arrogance. Marvel went from churning out movies about Iron Man and Captain America to trying to making billions off character most of us have never heard of.

This cut is packed with both faces and voices that you will recognize. It’s cool to realize that each of them got a look at Rocket and came up with a very different idea of what he sounds like, giving him very different accents and attitudes. The whole video is worth watching simply for comparison purposes.

How Guardians Of The Galaxy May Have Inspired Fantastic Four To Completely Change Course How Guardians Of The Galaxy May Have Inspired Fantastic Four To Completely Change Course
One of the key reasons why James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy has been able to do so well at the box office is because of the sheer lack of competition that existed in movie theaters this past August. Sure, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles put up a formidable fight in the Marvel movie's second week, but after that point a first, second or maybe even a third screening of the film was seen as preferable for audiences over whatever new stuff was coming out.

Those of us who lived through the '80s and '90s may have nostalgia for cassette tapes, but many of you will also remember that they were a complete pain in the ass. For those that don't remember or weren't alive for the experience, tapes occasionally decided to get completely sucked into the gears and mechanisms of the devices that played them, and unless you caught it quickly, were very careful with it, and were handy with a screwdriver, that tape would be destroyed permanently.

Kids may feel like they're getting away with something watching it, but really the film is pretty much on level with Star Wars in terms of being great sci-fi entertainment for most audiences. This is partially reflected in the fact that the movie's CGI characters, Groot and Rocket, look rather cute and cuddly - and not like the demonic creatures you see in the artwork inside.
