How To Train Your Dragon Synopsis

The cast of How To Train Your Dragon includes: Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder,Knocked Up) as Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third; Gerard Butler (300) as Hiccup's father and chief of the tribe, Stoick the Vast; America Ferrera (Emmy award winner for Ugly Betty) as Astrid, who partners with Hiccup for the initiation; Jonah Hill (Superbad) Snotlout, a bully who thinks he should be the next chief; and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad) as Fishlegs, a Vicking big in size but small in brains.

How To Train Your Dragon is directed by two-time Emmy winner Peter Hastings (Animaniacs) and produced by Bonnie Arnold (Over the Hedge, Toy Story).

The story centers around Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, a Viking teenager who lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. Initiation is coming, and this is his one chance to prove his worthiness to his tribe and father. But when he encounters, and ultimately befriends, an injured dragon, his world is turned upside down.
