Jack Reacher 2 Is Happening, With These Changes

Jack Reacher Sequel In The Works

Jack Reacher Giveaway: Win A Signed Blu-ray Copy Of The Film
This week boasts some big Blu-ray and DVD releases, but none is quite as thrilling as Jack Reacher, an action-filled thriller about an ex-military cop persuing a killer and finding trouble he doesn't anticipate. The action comedy did well at the box office and is headed to Blu-ray tomorrow. To celebrate, Paramount Home Entertainment is graciously giving away a Blu-ray copy of the film that has been signed by Tom Cruise himself.

Man Files A Complaint Because Jack Reacher Trailer Features An Explosion Not In The Film
Paramount defended the trailer, pointing out that most films for highly anticipated films are put together months before final edits have taken place, and it’s common practice to leave a few previously shown bits out of the final product.

Jack Reacher Will Bring The Pain To Blu-ray In May
In an early announcement, Paramount Home Media Distribution says Jack Reacher will hit Blu-ray and DVD on May 7. The film was directed by Usual Suspect writer Christopher McQuarrie and offered a fast-pasted, intense plotline with Tom Cruise at the helm and Werner Herzog taking a pretty big role. The film itself has a lot of pros and the Blu-ray release, especially, will offer even more pros.

Jack Reacher Might Get A Sequel After All
When you consider the fact that the movie came out just shortly after the Newtown, Connecticut shootings and opens with a sniper gunning down eight people in cold blood, it's not a big surprise that Jack Reacher under performed when it hit theaters in the U.S. back in December.

Tom Cruise's Jack Reacher Probably Never Getting A Sequel
Jack Reacher had all the makings of a franchise. It starred Tom Cruise, of course--still a movie star after all these years-- and went heavy on the action and the mystery in its twisty plot. And it had the bonus of a ton of source material to draw from

Weekend Box Office: New Movies Get Stockings Full of Coal
With Christmas right around the corner and American audiences perhaps slightly more distracted by the specter of having just one weekend left to finish getting those last minute gifts, movie theaters were relatively quiet. That left four new arrivals with stockings full of coal at the pre-holiday box office.

Christmas Movie Guide: How To Choose Between Jack Reacher, Django Unchained And More
Going to the movies on Christmas Day is usually thought of as a tradition for Jews, or anybody else not celebrating the holiday who's got the day off. But really, no matter how you're spending the holiday, there's probably going to be a time that you want to get out of the house and away from the family or friends you've gathered with-- or maybe you want to take them with you, but just get to a place where you don't have to talk to them much.

Django Unchained And Jack Reacher Cancel Events After Newtown Tragedy
After any major, violent tragedy in the United States, the easiest and least constructive response is to blame the media. It happened after Columbine, it happened after the shooting in the theater playing The Dark Knight Rises this summer, and it's at least being suggested now, after the horrifying massacre in Newtown, Connecticut

This Rotten Week: Predicting Jack Reacher, This is 40, And More Reviews
After weeks of skating by with one movie here, two there, the studios saw fit to dump a full on smorgasbord on us all at once. No time or words to spare. We’ve got Jack Reacher, guilt trips, manhunts, mid-life crises, and acrobats

New Jack Reacher Poster Looks Very Familiar
The movie, based on the novel "One Shot" by Lee Child and written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, begins when a trained military sniper shoots and skills five people while perched in a parking garage overlooking a busy business plaza. The police, led by Detective Emerson (David Oyelowo), collect more than enough evidence to convict a man named James Barr (Joseph Sikora), but when they bring him in he only has one thing to say: "Bring me Jack Reacher."

Tom Cruise Goes Badass In Two New Jack Reacher Clips
Because I’ve read a number of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher mysteries over the years, a pretty clear vision of the wandering savior exists in a deep recess of my brain – the place where we envision what we are reading like if a movie were unfolding in my mind. Now that I’ve finally picked up One Shot, though, I can only picture Tom Cruise in the role, and it’s making me angry.

It's Five Against One In New Clip From Jack Reacher
Tom Cruise may be kind of short - standing at 5'7" - but he has never looked out of place in a physical role. From the Mission: Impossible movies to Minority Report to Collateral, Cruise has never let his stature get in the way of his ability to intimidate. So while he may not be 6'5" and 250 pounds in Jack Reacher, I don't have a hard time believing that he can handle himself in a street brawl.

International Jack Reacher Trailer Packs More Bone-Crunching Footage
Given the fact that the story is pulled from Lee Child’s book One Shot, this trailer finally sets up the sniper misdirection that drives the narrative, so we get a lot more footage at the beginning of the clip … followed by scenes you’ve likely seen of Tom Cruise in ass-kicking mode.

Get The Backstory On Jack Reacher In The Film's First Clip
Jack Reacher begins when a trained sniper shoots five random people in the middle of a populated area. When the cops bring in their prime suspect, a trained army sniper named James Barr who left evidence of his involvement with the crime everywhere, he says only one thing: "Get me Jack Reacher." When Reacher (Tom Cruise), a trained army cop, gets to town he actually aims to bury Barnes for good, but when he starts looking into the case he discovers that something just isn't right.

Jack Reacher Director Is Top Choice For Mission: Impossible 5
At one point it looked like Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol might be the last Mission: Impossible film as we knew them, with Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt handing the franchise reins over to Jeremy Renner's younger character, and the whole thing dying a dignified if delayed death. Then it turned out that Ghost Protocol was fantastic

Jack Reacher Trailer Brings In Werner Herzog And A Classic Tom Cruise Shrug
Hot on the heels of yesterday's new teaser poster, Tom Cruise's upcoming action vehicle Jack Reacher has a brand-new trailer, which gives us a much better sense of what we're in for with this adaptation from the wildly popular Lee Child series. Jack Reacher wants to be your new Jason Bourne-- will you let him?

Tom Cruise Has No Limits In Latest Jack Reacher Poster
That could be Ethan Hunt, Cruise’s Mission: Impossible hero, in that photo. Or any number of action characters Cruise plays. That doesn’t mean he won’t be fine as Reacher, or that people unfamiliar with Child’s books won’t think Jack Reacher is a wonderful film. They still might.

World War Z And Pain & Gain Reveal First Footage At Paramount Presentation
Last night in a screening room above a rain-soaked Times Square, Paramount Pictures unveiled a reel to show off their highest-profile releases through 2014, including footage from two films that hadn't been seen anywhere else. And no, before you ask, neither of them were Star Trek Into Darkness-- all we got from that was the same bit of director J.J. Abrams's appearance on Conan

Jack Reacher UK Poster Provides Memories Of Ghost Protocol
Last year was a big one for Tom Cruise. While he has been starring in films since the early 1980s, the one title that he released last year, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, actually wound up being the biggest hit of his career, raking in nearly $700 million globally. Because of that astounding success, it's no surprise that his next movie, which also happens to be coming from the same studio (Paramount Pictures), is trying out a similar marketing strategy to the action box office hit.

Tom Cruise And Rosamund Pike Meet In New Jack Reacher Image
There are many Lee Child fans who aren't exactly stoked that Tom Cruise is playing the titular character in the upcoming Jack Reacher. In Child's books, the character is described as a hulking monster, standing 6’5” and weighing around 250 pounds, and it's well known that Cruise is only 5'7".

Tom Cruise Revs Up Engines For U.S. Jack Reacher Trailer
Like the international trailer, this clip sets up Cruise’s character, Jack Reacher, as an above-the-law vigilante who isn’t interested in obeying rules. In reality, Reacher is a former military investigator who's now trying to solve a mysterious case involving a very talented sniper. And as I mentioned when the international trailer dropped, he looks an awful lot like Ethan Hunt, Cruise’s unstoppable agent from Paramount’s Mission: Impossible franchise.

Tom Cruise Channels Jack Reacher In First International Trailer
Reacher is the star of several Lee Child novels, and Paramount envisions Jack Reacher to be the start of a possible trilogy of films. It will be based on Child’s book One Shot, introducing Cruise as the tough-as-nails hero and setting the stage for more stories. The movie opens in December. Expect a domestic trailer to drop soon, but for now, what do you think? Is Cruise winning over the skeptics? Or do you need to see more to be convinced?

Tom Cruise Looks Ready For A Fight In First Official Look At Jack Reacher
Back in April, while in Las Vegas attending the annual event known as CinemaCon, I had the pleasure of seeing the first ever footage from the upcoming Jack Reacher, Christopher McQuarrie's adaptation of Lee Child's One Shot starring Tom Cruise. Watching three scenes in total, I was impressed by what I saw, both in the action and the dialogue (I won't soon forget hearing a guy tell a woman to "Shut [her] cock holster").

Tom Cruise Thriller One Shot Adds Beauty Alexia Fast To Cast
Fast will play Sandy, a beautiful but potentially treacherous character who will be used to dupe Cruise’s hero. Not that Child’s fan base needs to be told that. They’ve propped the Reacher stories on a pedestal, and already know by heart the fact that One Shot follows the respected cop as he looks into a sniper assassination that involves the mudre of five random victims
