You know who looked crazy dapper at the Tonys on Sunday? Hugh Jackman. He rocked slicked back hair and a full beard with a tux, and made it look sensational. But as you can see from the shot he shared below, his thick head of hair has been sacrificed for his upcoming role in Pan.
She'll be playing Mary, because, holy crap, Hollywood has Seyfried playing moms now. She's 28, guys. This is a stretch, considering her daughter Wendy is meant to romance Peter Pan, played by Levi Miller. The casting call for Pan sought an 11-13 year old. Maybe this works if Wendy is, what, 8? Still... Hollywood, dude. Amanda Seyfried is playing moms now?
Warner Bros. has been hot on the trailer of the young actor who will lead (or follow within) their upcoming reimagining of Peter Pan, and now they’ve found him, without the help of Tinkerbell no less. Newcomer Levi Miller will make his feature debut in Pan, British director Joe Wright’s follow-up to 2012’s Anna Karenina.
Director Joe Wright's upcoming Peter Pan origin story Pan has not yet found the 10-12 year old actor who will play the titular role, but it has been busy putting together a fantastic supporting cast. We've already learned that Hugh Jackman and Garrett Hedlund will be playing the pirates Blackbeard and Hook, respectively, but now Rooney Mara is in negotiations to play a character fans of the classic story will certainly recognize.
Now, I’m familiar with the Pan story, and I don’t remember Blackbeard being a part of J.M. Barrie’s play. Captain Hook? Sure. Mister Smee? Absolutely. Neverland’s a big place, and Jackman likely will have a lot of creative freedom to create a villain – I’m assuming he’ll be a villain.
In this fantasy film, from director Joe Wright, Peter Pan and Hook are good friends who team up to lead a pirate revolt, and with casting starting, they’re about to beef up the names in consideration for what they see as a potential franchise. According to THR, an offer is out to Garret Hedlund to star as the young Hook.
Scripted by Jason Fuchs, the film will follow a young orphan named Pan who is brought to Neverland and becomes a hero while leading a revolt against evil pirates. It's probably safe to assume that Blackbeard will be the leader of said pirates, but for those of you wondering what that means for Captain Hook...
Following-up their ambitious Cloud Atlas, the Wachowski siblings have ventured to the wider universe for Jupiter Ascending. This universe is one where humans are considered to be near the very bottom of the evolutionary ladder - and yet a lowly human maid named Jupiter (Kunis) is thought to be a threat to the Queen of the Universe.
the Long Island-born O'Connor is currently in negotiations to helm Neverland, an origin story about J.M. Barrie's most beloved character. The project itself was announced all the way back in March of last year when it was reported that Sony was picking up the movie with Channing Tatum attached to star. Back then the script was called Pan.
Way back in May, Katey told us about Pan, a dark spin on J.B. Barrie's beloved never-aging character. At the time, the project had an excellent cast shaping up, including Aaron Eckhart in the lead, as well as Sean Bean and AnnaSophia Robb. Now add another big name to the line-up: Terence Stamp will be taking a role in Pan.
Given the way they're twisting the plot, you may not even recognize this as a Peter Pan film. Eckhart plays Captain Hook as the hero, a former detective hunting down a childlike killer (most like Pan himself) with the assistance of his ally Smee, to be played by Sean Bean
I'm probably as big a defender of Channing Tatum as you could hope for-- I actually liked The Eagle, thought he brought some worthwhile depth to Dear John, and that he was the standout of Stop-Loss-- but even I'm not sure what to make of news
Hibon has been set to direct Pan, a dark take on the story of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, in which Captain Hook is a former police detective on the tail of a "childlike kidnapper"-- presumably one named Peter Pan
