Rocky Balboa (Rocky VI) Synopsis

The greatest underdog story of our time is back for one final round of the Academy Award-winning Rocky franchise, former heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa steps out of retirement and back into the ring, pitting himself against a new rival in a dramatically different era. After a virtual boxing match declares Rocky Balboa the victor over current champion Mason "The Line" Dixon, the legendary fighter's passion and spirit are reignited. But when his desire to fight in small, regional competitions is trumped by promoters calling for a rematch of the cyber-fight, Balboa must weigh the mental and physical risks of a high profile exhibition match against his need to be in the ring.

Sly Stallone kicks off his good old days world tour with Rocky VI. Didn't we all get tired of this character after Rocky III? The world can live without six movies about Rocky. If Harrison Ford is too old to revisit Indy, then what does that make Stallone and Rocky? Some guys just can't grow old gracefully.

Instead, a new spinoff is in the works and will be titled Creed, with starring duties falling to the young, talented Michael B. Jordan.

MGM have threatened to sue Rocky IIís biggest fan, even though she has organized a fun-run in honor of Sylvester Stalloneís infamous boxer. Rebecca Shaefer has been handed and cease-and-desist letter from the studio over the name of her Rocky 50K Run, which will re-trace every step that the boxer made in the 1979 sequel as he prepared to face Apollo Creed for the second time.

For months now we've been referring somewhat derisively to Real Steel as "Hugh Jackman's robot boxing movie," which, OK, was probably a little unfair. Yes, the movie is being directed by Shawn Levy
