Synopsis
Golden Globe Award winner Steve Carell and Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley star in the comedy Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, which marks the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Lorene Scafaria (Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist). Set in a too-near future, the movie explores what people will do when humanity’s last days are at hand. As the respective journeys of Dodge (Mr. Carell) and Penny (Ms. Knightley) converge, the two spark to each other and their outlooks – if not the world’s – brighten.

6 Bourne-Style Spinoffs We Want From This Year's Movies

What if we could tell side spin-offs about other 2012 movies? What other films set up characters or ideas that you'd follow, not into their own story, but separately within the story already being told? We're not talking sequels or prequels here, but seeing a story from one movie told from a completely different angle...

How many box office hits can one studio make? An even better question: how many number one movies in a row can one studio release? This weekend Pixar launched Brave, a movie which has not only shown the studio can quickly and solidly bounce back from a critical flop (last year's disappointing Cars 2) but that it is still going strong with its thriteenth number one box office release in a row....

Happy Father’s Day to all the baby daddys out there, but a big shout out goes to the best dad in the whole world: me. And Little Baby Rotten Week showed her appreciation when she gave the best gift ever this morning: “sleeping in” until 6:30 AM. No card necessary when that kind of miracle happens...

First Trailer For Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, Starring Steve Carell

If you knew for a fact that the world was coming to an end, I'd imagine that you'd panic at first, but after that you'd feel quite liberated. You'd finally have the opportunity to live life like you've always wanted and not have to worry about all of the terrible consequences. There would, of course, be some horrible people that would take advantage of the situation and use it to commit crimes, but I'd like to think......

Patton Oswalt, Connie Britton And Lots More Also Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World

Patton Oswalt, Connie Britton And Lots More Also Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World

Because this is a road trip movie, in which Carell and Knightley's characters team up to find Carell's long-lost love before the world ends, it seems possible that all of these actors will actually fit into the cast. But still, director Lorene Scafaria will have her hands full...

Community's Gillian Jacobs Is Seeking A Friend At The End Of The World

Community's Gillian Jacobs Is Seeking A Friend At The End Of The World

The role sounds fairly small but also fun, possibly allowing Jacobs to break out of the frigid box that playing Britta sometimes creates for her. Plus, and I don't know about you guys, but hearing about actors from TV shows I love taking on film roles helps soften the blow of those shows not coming back for a few months...
