During his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye has been presented as a rather gruff character. Amazing as it is to see all of the core members of The Avengers unifying on the big screen, it’s certainly more narratively fulfilling if there is a reason for all of the heroes to be together. Fortunately, this appears to be very much in the cards for the blockbuster – at least for Thor, who will be bringing a very interesting element to the table in the fight against the movie’s titular villain.

The very first moment we meet Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye in The Avengers, we really start to learn everything we need to know about him. Claiming to see better from a distance, he sets himself up as a bit of a loner and detached from all the action and people that he is monitoring on the floor below him. The truth is, Hawkeye isn’t really much of a team player, and that element plays an interesting element in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Staying true to the character’s comic book origin as a somewhat Shakespearean royal figure, Thor has earned a reputation as being a bit of an uptight figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
