The Expendables 3 (2014)
The Expendables 3 SynopsisIn The Expendables 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

This Week In Home Entertainment: The Expendables 3 And More
Despite the fact that Black Friday is hitting stores in just a few short days (and seems to have hit the internet already), this week’s actually pretty light on high-end releases, as well as gift sets. Regardless, even on the light weeks for Blu-ray and DVD releases, there is plenty to choose from.

Sylvester Stallone Finally Admits The Expendables Made This Huge Mistake
When a movie underperforms at the box office, it's natural for people to start trying to discover the root of what went wrong. Typically fingers can be pointed at a director or the screenplay or the studio, but sometimes it's more specific things. In the case of The Expendables 3, Sylvester Stallone is placing a good amount of blame on the film's rating.

The Expendables 3 Is Getting An Unrated Cut, Here Are The Details
Unlike its two franchise predecessors, The Expendables 3 entered theaters not with a restrictive R-rating, but instead a much more teen friendly PG-13. While many fans saw this as a big mistake, noting that the series originated as an ode to the hyper-violent and bloody action movies of the 1980s, it's one that Lionsgate will be doing its part to correct when the film arrives on Blu-ray and DVD.

4DX Theater Technology Is An Early Success
4DX puts customers right into the middle of the action in their favorite flicks through the use of a technology that utilizes seat movement and sensory effects inside the auditorium, which are synched to the action onscreen. America’s first theater utilizing the tech opened this past June, and early results show it’s a huge hit with patrons.

Two Of The Expendables Are Gay Lovers
Okay, so, a lot of you didn't see The Expendables 3 this weekend, and that's a pity. It's not because the movie's good (it isn't), it's not because the heroes of yesterday's movies need your support, and not because Sylvester Stallone is starving. Instead, it's because you missed out on a little history. Did you know there were a couple of gay Expendables? Specifically, a couple of hugely famous gay Expendables? GAY SPOILERS AHEAD!
The Expendables 3 Was Not Undone By Piracy
That's assuming all the downloads occurred in America, which they absolutely didn't – the franchise has been much healthier internationally, with 72% of the second film's overall gross coming from foreign territories.

Expendables 3 Robbed Us Of A Much-Needed Wesley Snipes Renaissance
It's as much a pleasure for him to be unshackled onscreen as it is for us to see him again, years passed his prime, that spark still alive in his eyes. Naturally, the movie treats him similarly to the other legends onscreen, chucking him to the scrap heap three scenes later.
5 Surefire Ways To Fix The Broken Expendables Franchise
But the fans just didn't show up to a film that added Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford to the ever-growing roster of characters, three legends with serious box office pedigree. The formula seemed simple at the beginning, but it's clear from audience dissatisfaction that it's not working.
Jackie Chan Explains Why He Turned Down Expendables 2 And 3
These movies so far have been overstuffed to the point of parody. The latest film tries to find space for two full Expendables teams, reducing Jet Li to a tiny cameo and four spoken lines, and he doesn't even throw any kicks. And Wesley Snipes seems like a selling point for the new movie, but after a major break-in that frees him, he and the rest of the Expendables are (temporarily!) fired and replaced by the new crew.

Why Does The MPAA Exist If It Can't Do Its Job?
I’m not the first person to take the MPAA to task for its lax stance on violence versus language or nudity. Hopefully I won’t be the last. These arguments may sound like a broken record, but it’s one worth playing – again and again – if disturbingly violent films like The Expendables 3 reach the marketplace with an audience-friendly PG-13 rating.

Sylvester Stallone Wants Sigourney Weaver For Expendables Female-Fronted Spinoff
The idea of an "Expendabelles" movie has been floating around for a while now, but at the London premiere of The Expendables 3, Stallone suggested who he'd like to see star. None too surprisingly, he named Sigourney Weaver. However, how he suggests she'd fit into the franchise is a little less than inspiring.

Why The PG-13 Rating Should Be Abolished
So here's what we do. We lobby to eliminate PG-13. What this does is force the MPAA to look at content differently. That means, no more arbitrary rulings or beliefs about one breast versus two, one headshot versus five. Whatever they think is a movie for “adults” will earn an R-rating.

The Expendables 3 Will Be PG-13
As some people on Twitter following ERC have pointed out, reducing an Expendables movie to PG-13 sort of goes against the point of these movies. The Expendables movies exist to see the greatest, most iconic action stars going balls-to-the-wall in escalatingly violent operas of blood and carnage. Right?

Bruce Willis Demanded $1 Million A Day On Expendables 3
Bruce Willis has been a bona fide blockbuster action star for about 25 years now, and in that time, like most A-list actors, he has been well compensated for his work. Over the course of his career he has signed many multi-million dollar contracts - to the point where you'd think that $1 million wouldn't be that much. Apparently it means everything, though, because it was that sum that ended up stopping the Die Hard star run in the Expendables movies.

Rousey is also arranging to have her team keep her in modified training during both shoots, however.

Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes And Milla Jovovich In Talks For Expendables 3
All four actors have plenty of action genre cred that should help the four new stars fit in quite well with the rest of the ensemble cast. The question that remains, however, is how the four characters will be used. I'd personally want to see Chan, Snipes and Jovovich join up with the good guys and then cast Cage as a ridiculously over-the-top bad guy with plans for world domination. But what do you think?

Sylvester Stallone Seeking 'Young Sigourney Weaver' For Expendables 3
As I see it, the tweet above can be read two ways. First: Sigourney Weaver is a badass action heroine; we need someone like her but younger (read: hotter) for this male-audience-driven franchise. Or two: Sigourney is on board and we need someone who can encapsulate her unique blend of strength and smarts to play a younger version of her character for flashback purposes (or something.)

Expendables 3 Still Going After Wesley Snipes And Jackie Chan
When it comes to the Expendables franchise the key word is escalation. With The Expendables 2 the muscled-up group of actors truly raised the bar with extended roles for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis as well as parts for Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins. So with Expendables 3 they somehow have to push it even further and bring in more luminaries of the genre. And they continue to gun for the top guys.
