   Amanda grew up in the same area I did in Irvine Calif, she also was a regular at a awesome Mexican Rest in Irvine, El Conejo. I can tell you she is brutally honest as she is brutally beautiful, I heard nothing but good things about her. I think she should have showed a little more class in her remarks though, but Phelps will have no problem in the LADIES department the bigger picture should be Mark Spitz total lack of respect.Mark shake yourself you are a awesome Olympic swimmer but by being a azzz you show to be a big loser in the spirit of being a Champion. Grow up Mark Spitzer give Phelips the respect he deserves and Amanda you should have at least been flattered not acting like your a Bitch, and your not a Bitch are you????

   Amanda Beard is the first swimmer to qualify for the newest swimming event in the next Olympics ... the extremely shallow events.

   What an irrelevant, shallow bimbo. She (and you, too, Mack) can Michael Phelps' dust. I guess Michael would be interested in her if he were attracted to idiot bimbos who resemble anteaters with too much makeup or tan or celebrity wannabee leeches and so-called sports columnists known for being known (or saying something stupid or latching onto a celebrity just to make headlines).
   
   I only hope Michael will keep his head on straight and remain genuine as he navigates his way around the inevitable barrage of trash currently falling out of the trees, hangers-on who will try to use him for a buck or a cheap fame fix. If he remains grounded, I'm sure he will find a wonderful soulmate who will love him for him, not the size of his bank account or the number of gold medals hanging around his neck.
   
   Your lack of sensitivity, brains, and manners aside, I'm sure it never dawned on you imbeciles that the reasons Michael tunes people out on his iPod is his shyness and ADHD, and he is, understandably, overwhelmed by all the crowds, cameras, and attention.

   What Amanda said was just plain rude and your post is equally so. There were other ways to say that she and Michael were not dating. And what's with saying that Michael is an arrogant douche-bag? From what I've seen and all the interviews I've read he seems like a fairly shy guy with immense talent. His an amazing swimmer and he seems to be a humble guy who is grateful for everything that has been happening to him. So unless you've actually met him there's no need to judge him like that. I lost all respect for Amanda Beard after she made that comment and apparently I've lost all respect for you too Mack after this post. If anyone is acting like a douche bag it's you.

   Jeff, that must be an ugly town where you grew up with Beard because she is fugly. I guess if you keep seeing her picture over and over again it clouds your perception. I have see a horse smile like that since that ice skater whatshername. Beard is delusional as you. That Italian swimmer or that Australian chick are good looking.
