Have you ever looked at a piece of art and realized, even with an unlimited amount of time and an unlimited amount of resources, you would never be able to duplicate it? Given my poor fine motor skills and lax attention to detail, I feel that way about pretty much ever piece of art I’ve ever seen, but when it comes to the paper sculptures of Li Hongbo, I’m overwhelmed by the realization.

I’m not sure what I find more remarkable: that Hongbo is this otherworldly brilliant at creating paper sculptures or that he discovered he’s this otherworldly brilliant at creating paper sculptures. I have no idea how he caught on to his talent in this area, but it’s a great benefit to everyone that he did.

The Beijing based artist is currently showing his work at a large exhibit in Sydney, Australia, but in the coming years, it’s likely his sculptures will begin popping up all over the world.
