Congrats To Ellen And Portia

We’d like to send out a big congratulations to comedienne Ellen DeGeneres and her long time girlfriend actress Portia de Rossi who were married at the Beverly Hills estate they share over the weekend. The move comes on the heels of a change in California law which now allows both gay and lesbian couples to receive marital rights.
It’s been a long road, particularly for Ellen DeGeneres, as her emergence from the closet in 1997 was considered a huge surprise amongst almost all of Middle America, but like the wonderful stand-up comic she is, DeGeneres won most of conservative society back, even helping to cure some of bigotry and close-mindedness. So, here’s to you, Ellen and Portia. May the rest of your lives be filled with the same nitpicky arguments and bitchy glares straight couples work through on a daily basis.
