Last night on X Factor, all of the remaining contestants performed alongside seasoned industry veterans during one of their songs. Girl group Fifth Harmony sang with judge Demi Lovato. Tate Stevens performed with country favorites Little Big Town and Carly Rose Sonenclar belted it out alongside LeAnn Rimes. Unfortunately, only one of those duets is being talked about today, and it’s not for any of the right reasons.
Take a look…
Awkward and completely out of sync, Sonenclar and Rimes’ collaboration was a hot mess that went so badly it led quite a few outlets to speculate about whether or not the country superstar took something before going on stage. If you take it from her, however, she wasn’t on drugs, and it was actually her thirteen-year-old singing partner’s fault. Here’s what she told TMZ…
"I was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song."
That’s a really bitchy comment, but it’s not necessarily untrue. It’s entirely possible Carly was uncomfortable singing alongside Rimes and that caused LeAnn to alter her normal game plan, spirling the entire performance on a course toward failure. Then again, it’s also possible that LeAnn had a few drinks or took something before she went on stage and that altered state had an impact on her performance.
