Katie Holmes' Double Delight: Gets Wedding Dress and Nicole's Blessing

They say that when planning a wedding, the hardest part is finding a dress. After that, everything else falls into place. If that's truly the case, Katie Holmes may finally have the most important milestone in moving towards actually marrying the man who proposed to her nearly a year and a half ago. Nevermind that in the interim she's borne the brunt of his societal escapades and the fruit of his fertile loins.
But this last week twenty-something Katie couldn't be bothered with thoughts of her forty-something husband. According to The San Francisco Gate, Holmes got to take a "girlie city break" with fellow celeb Victoria Beckham to the city of perpetual fashion spending: Paris. There the glam girls embarked on a week long dress hunt, partying with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld along the way. Apparently she tried on a few Chanel dresses, reportedly finding one she liked. "I already have my dress," beamed the future Mrs. Cruise. The dress isn't the only milestone Katie received. Apparently she also got a call from Tom's recently remarried ex-wife Nicole Kidman. According to Life Style Extra, Kidman phoned Holmes and not only assured Katie that she was pleased they were getting married, but also offered words of wisdom to alleviate "some of Katie’s worries about what it’s like being married to Tom." Their source added, "Nicole called Katie and they had a friendly chat, during which she said Tom had been a great, supportive husband for ten years and she shouldn’t listen to any gossip about him that suggests otherwise." Perhaps Kidman should phone Katie's parents instead. The devout Catholic parents are no doubt none too happy about their daughter's pending nuptuals with one of Scientology's greatest promoters.
