Oscar-winning moviemaker Ang Lee was stunned when his kids told him to try drugs to make his new Taking Woodstock movie more authentic.
The director's new film is based on the iconic 1969 Woodstock music festival in New York and features a psychedelic sequence with characters high on hallucinogenic LSD. Lee admits he has never taken drugs and was stunned when his sons, aged 25 and 19, suggested he try an acid trip - but he refused.
He says, "I'm almost embarrassed to say I've never taken LSD myself, at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you've taken it or not, you have to visualise it - this is what I said to my kids when they said 'Daddy you should try it'. I said 'No, look I didn't go through a sex change operation to make women's movies.'" (LR/WNTET/ZN)
