Lindsay Lohan has been caught up in the riddle of a $11,000 fur coat which went missing from a birthday party in a New York bar.
Masha Markova claims her blond mink jacket vanished when she tried to retrieve it from a bundle of coats at trendy nightspot 1 Oak, where she was celebrating the birthday of a friend on 26 January (08).
Two weeks later she spotted Lohan - who was also present at the party - wearing an identical garment in the pages of a celebrity magazine, photographs taken the same night the coat went missing.
Markova insisted, "It was my coat. It was no doubt," and instructed her lawyer to threaten to legal action the actress. Soon after, she was contacted by bosses at 1 Oak, who then returned the item, without explanation, smelling of alcohol and cigarette smoke and with a tear in the lining.
Although she cannot prove Lohan is responsible for 'borrowing' the coat, Markova is demanding a $10,000 fee for the rental. She says, "I don't see how it could have been an accident."
Lohan's spokesperson has yet to respond to the New York Post report.
