Actor Mel Brooks is planning on turning his 1974 Western spoof Blazing Saddles into a Broadway musical.
Brooks adapted his 1968 film original The Producers into a hugely successful stage show in 2001, and more recently wrote the score for an adaptation of Young Frankenstein, which opened in New York last year (07).
And now Brooks is rumoured to be working on adapting Blazing Saddles for the stage. According to the New York Post gossip column Pagesix, the 81-year-old believes the poplar movie is the prefect choice for an all-singing, all-dancing make-over. (LR/WNWCPS/CAM)
