Moviemaker MICHAEL MOORE has lost 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms) in three months after research for his new documentary about the U.S. medical system left him keen to lose weight.
The larger-than-life director admits he started to feel like a hypocrite as he attacked a healthcare system without taking care of his own health.
He says, "I just started to do a few things differently. I'm from the Midwest and guys like me don't go on diets. We don't do well on spinning classes.
"But we should be smart enough to know that by eating a few fruits and vegetables a day and going for a walk every day can't be a bad thing.
"I've tried to alter a few things that I eat, nothing big, nothing special, and I try to go out for 30 minutes to an hour every day for a good brisk walk.
"In doing just that I've dropped 30 pounds in three months."
