Paul Newman spent the years before his death ensuring his charitable foundation would continue to run long after he was gone.
For nearly 30 years, 100 per cent of the profits from sales of the Newman's Own range of foods have been passed onto charities worldwide, through the Newman's Own Foundation.
More than $250 million has been handed out to good causes, including camps for children suffering from life- threatening diseases.
And foundation Vice President Robert Forrester insists it will continue to carry out the late actor's wishes.
Forrester says, "Really, everything is in great shape. He said, 'When I'm not here, this foundation is to continue the tradition of giving all of this money away.'"
Newman died from cancer on Friday (26Sep08) at the age of 83. (IG/WNWA/MT)
