Nevermind that little incident with Ellen DeGeneres, our third in a trio of celebrity events has occurred. Nevermind that she's the most overrated "celebrity" on the planet, Paris Hilton was picked up for suspicion of DUI early Thursday morning. She was released and will face a court date in the coming weeks.
Paris joins Mel Gibson and Haley Joel Osment as major names to be arrested for the offense in as many weeks. According to CNN, shortly after midnight Paris was seen "driving erratically in Hollywood" and after being stopped failed a field sobriety test.
Her publicist, Elliot Mintz is claiming that she wasn't drunk, that she'd had only one drink abd hadn't eaten all day. OK, that doesn't make her drunk, just dumb for getting behind a wheel in that condition anyway. Mintz also claimed that the field Breathalyzer test she took showed the "very absolute lowest reading you can possibly get to warrant being taken in." I hate to break it to you Elliot, but if you're over the line, you're over the line. The law is the law, even if you are Paris Hilton.
"It's her first offense and hopefully it will never happen again," added Mintz. At least we can agree on that.

SWEET! It has gotten to the point that everyone has one. You are not in the club till you get one and what you do after the first one is(hopefully) not to do it again.
"She only had one... yeah, so she was a little bit drunk.... OK, yeah she was over the limit.... OK, yeah sure, but she wasn't THAT over the limit, c'mon."
Only Paris Hilton could try and defend being caught out on a DUI and expect sympathy.
