Fresh off his epic t-bagging of the world’s best athletes, Michael Phelps has been given the Sports Illustrated cover. While not exactly wielding the life-changing esteem it once carried, the S.I. front cover is still the most coveted layout in the sporting world and a spot I’m sure Michael Phelps will gladly take for the fifth time.
According to Pop Crunch, the picture, shown above, features Phelps will all eight of his gold medals, in an homage to a cover fellow swimmer Mark Spitz did after taking home a record seventy-two gold medals in 1972. Pretty sweet.
It’s unclear what twenty-three year old Michael Phelps will do after taking a lengthy hiatus until next February, but here’s to hoping he remains healthy and fit for another go in London four years from now.
