Twenty-two year old Irish golfer Rory McIlroy just won the US Open. In the process, he set the all-time scoring record and became the second youngest man since World War II to capture one of golf's four esteemed major championships. Only Tiger Woods tasted glory at a younger age after his historic win at the 1997 Masters. In a lot of ways, it's hard not to compare the two wunderkinds. Both men were talked about for years before they finally broke through. When Woods did, he routed the field by twelve strokes. This week, McIlroy's nearest competitor was eight shots back.

We're a little early in the game to start discussing whether Rory McIlroy will cast even a fraction of the shadow Tiger Woods has over the golfing world for the last decade and a half, but seeing as how it's Sunday night and golfing fans are still blown away by the Irishman's exploits, let's forecast into the future a little bit. Tiger Woods has won fourteen majors. Jack Nicklaus, who also first prevailed at twenty-two, went on to win eighteen.

How many majors do you think Rory McIlroy will win before he's done? 3? 7? 20? Vote in the poll below and let us know what you think…
