Sting and John Legend are to co-headline a climate rally to mark Earth Day 2010 on The National Mall in Washington, D.C. The duo will join The Roots, Bob Weir, Patrick Stump, Mavis Staples and Booker T, among others, for the musical protest on 25 April (10).

Non-musicians will include Sting's actress wife Trudie Styler, filmmaker James Cameron and civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson.

The rally will coincide with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and those taking part hope to persuade members of Congress to pass an effective and equitable climate and clean energy bill. (KL/WN/MT)
