Blink-182 spent several years putting together last year’s Neighborhoods, an album that received mostly positive reviews in the critic sector. However, according to Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, the band has barely scratched the surface when it comes to their potential quality. There’s new music coming to the fans in the future and Barker says “the best is yet to come.”
Blink-182 took a long time off before returning to the music scene in 2009. Neighborhoods ended up being a good effort, but it took a while to hit the market. Barker recently told Rythym, their was a lot of pressure to create new works for fans after getting back together. More importantly, the band had to find a new groove to work in.
"We had seven years off and the last album I think was us barely getting back into the rhythm, recording an album because it was expected of us and we'd gotten back together and everyone wanted to hear new music."
Now, the hopeful drummer really feels like he and the gang have gotten comfortable with one another, again. Barker believes now the band has had more time, the product will improve exponentially.
"I feel like the best is yet to come, the next album is going to be exciting. For the most part the last album was recorded in different studios, we weren't always in the same room. We made it happen and it was the best it could be at the time with us three. I think in the future it can be crazy."
Still, the band has a lot of tour dates coming up, which means each of the group members will be pretty busy in the coming months. I hope we get to hear “the best” sooner rather than later.
