Official Cloverfield Details And Packaging Revealed

After a bunch of speculation and some hope, Paramount has finally announced the details for Cloverfield’s DVD release. Expect a lot of people to be disappointed – more than those who were utterly disappointed by the execution of the movie in the first place.

What’s there to be disappointed by? For starters, that rumored cover art isn’t happening, tossed aside in favor of a more marketable image (like I expected) and the movie is strictly a DVD venture right now – no high definition anything. Whether this is due to the rumored HD DVD material that had to be tossed or not is debatable, but whatever the reason, there’s no high definition option on the movie right now.

This isn’t to say there’s nothing good coming out for Cloverfield’s recently announced April 22nd release date. In fact, there’s quite a bit of cool material, including a commentary track, two alternate endings for the movie, and a list of easter eggs that rival the actual announced bonus material. Take a look at the announced list of features below (highlight below the visible text to see the announced easter eggs, hidden for those who don’t want to be spoiled), as well as the released packaging.
