Heroes Ends With A Whimper On Blu-Ray And DVD This August

So, Heroes is over. I know, I didn't realize it was still on either. But yeah, it's dunzo, so if for some reason you want to buy the final season, you can do so August 3rd. Or you could buy Kick-Ass instead, which comes out on the same day. Just sayin'.

I only kid because I love. Well, I once loved. Then I was spurned, terribly spurned, and left bitter and hateful by my former superpowered paramour. Because there was a time. Oh yes, there was a time when Heroes was a bright, shining light, when it was schooling even LOST when it came to how to do serialized television right. Then we got the first-season finale, and it was all downhill from there. And there was a sinkhole at the bottom of the hill. That lead into Hell. Saving the cheerleader may have saved the world, but it sure didn't save the show.

Heroes: Season 4 collects all 18 episodes of the final season on either Blu-ray or DVD. Even at its most floundering, the show always looked great in HD, so I'd opt for the Blu-ray if you're any sort of fan at all. And if you're not a fan, why the hell are you buying the DVDs? In addition to the improved picture and sound, the Blu-ray set sports quite a few exclusive features. Here's the rundown:
