Daria: The Complete Series Finally Arrives On DVD May 11th

Everyone’s favorite outcast is finally coming to DVD. On May 11th Paramount Home Entertainment will release Daria: The Complete Animated Series. Unfortunately, the details on this long-awaited box set are sparse, but according to TVShowsOnDVD.com, it is on the way.

The site reports that when Marty Day, the man in charge of Blast-O-Rama.com, put in an early disc for another highly anticipated MTV release, The State, the first thing that popped up was an advertisement for Daria. Daria – The Movie: Is It Fall Yet? and Daria – Is it College Yet? both hit DVD in 2002, but none of the show’s five seasons have yet been given the home-release treatment.

For those of you unfamiliar with the popular animated MTV series, Daria is a Beavis and Butt-Head spinoff that ran from 1997 to 2002. Daria Morgendorffer is a smart young girl with an extremely sarcastic and pessimistic side. Her only solace in a high school filled with suburban stereotypes is her best friend Jane, an artist who shares Daria’s cynicism. Well, there’s also Jane’s brother, Trent, a guitar player in a rock band and also Daria’s crush.

Whether you’re new to the series or a long-time fan, this is a DVD worth keeping an eye on. We’ll be sure to keep you updated when more details are revealed, but for now, check out the box art courtesy of DVD Active.
