Somehow I missed that the Eddie Murphy Dr. Dolittle franchise was still rolling. Not only has the series continued on without Murphy, but it’s up to its fourth picture, the direct-to-DVD, recently announced Dr. Dolittle 4: Tail to the Chief.

While Murphy had the sense to get out while the getting was good, and Cuba Gooding Jr. hasn’t been pulled in to replace him (see: Daddy Day Camp), the movie is following one of the original cast: Kyla Pratt, who plays the now-adult Maya Dolittle. Discovering she shares her father’s talent, Maya pursues a job as a veterinarian, but she finds that career path put on hold when the President of the United States calls for help with the First Dog. Who else but Maya can help keep the President’s dog from becoming a national disaster? (Yikes!)

Dr. Dolittle 4: Tail to the Chief hits DVD on March 4th and isn’t the last planned film in the series. Pratt’s filmography lists yet another Dolittle film on the way in the future. For now, take a look at the fourth film’s announced extras:
