You probably haven’t heard of American Violet. The film has been kicking around the festival circuit and a limited release this year, and now it’s hoping to find a bigger audience on Blu-ray and DVD. Based on a true story, American Violet is about a young African-American mother in a small Texas town who must fight to prove her innocence after being falsely accused of dealing drugs. The cast includes notables such as Alfre Woodard, Tim Blake Nelson, and rapper Xzibit, and the film has earned some pretty positive reviews.
