I thought Universal was already pushing things a bit with Jackass 2.5. The movie is a new release of Jackass 2 with new footage that they didn’t include in the previous, unrated, release of the film. Rumor has it some of the footage was shot after the DVD was released, leading to this being advertised as a brand new movie, even if it does include a lot of Jackass 2.

In case the DVD double-dip wasn’t enough, you can now view Jackass 2.5 online for free. No, I don’t mean a short trailer or something like that. Instead Blockbuster has made the movie available online for free. You just have to download Microsoft Silverlight and register – presumably that is part of their online movie viewing service (like NetFlix has), but I wouldn’t know – I’m using a Mac and have no desire to download Microsoft Silverlight.
