Fans of horror movies, axe murder, and horror movies named after axe murder, rejoice: writer/director Adam Green's Hatchet II is coming to Blu-ray and DVD February 1st. Naturally, the continuing adventures of Victor Crowley will arrive in the form of an unrated director's cut. Because what fun is a horror DVD if it doesn't add in extra carnage or naughty bits?
The sequel picks up right where the original left off, with survivor Marybeth (Danielle Harris) returning to confront the murderous Crowley after he carved a swath through her friends in the first movie. This time, however, she brought along some heavily armed back-up. Which I imagine will be just about exactly as successful as when Ripley tried the same thing in Aliens.
