Just because The Lone Ranger is 75 years old, doesn’t mean the Ranger himself has slowed down. Thanks to Entertainment Rights and Genius Product the Lone Ranger’s adventures have been preserved and will be ready for purchase in a special anniversary DVD box set on November 11th.
Join everyone’s favorite masked Western hero, the ‘Masked Man’ (Clayton Moore), and his sidekick Tonto (Jay Silverheels) as they fight for law and order. The Lone Ranger 75th Anniversary Collector’s Edition boasts 12 discs that include 78 episodes from 1949 and 1950, some of which have been digitally re-mastered. You’ll also get some Lone Ranger memorabilia like an 88-page commemorative booklet, episode guide and even rare comic book images. Bonus features include three episodes from the 1960s cartoon, a classic Lassie episode featuring the Lone Ranger and an original radio broadcast from 1950. The grand total for this set will come to $119.93, but for all of you Lone Ranger fans out there looking for a nostalgic fix, this DVD set will definitely suffice.
On the other hand, for the rest of you who may be too young to appreciate this classic series, there’s a more modern twist that might jar some interest. There has been some talk about The Lone Ranger feature film to be directed by Jerry Bruckheimer. And guess who might be involved? Johnny Depp! So if you’re planning to get in gear for what should be a major box office hit sometime in the future, you might want to brush up on your Masked Man info and saddle up for this one.
