Go to store. Grab disc. Pay at register. Go home and watch. Summary: On March 30th Warner Home Video will release Sherlock Holmes on DVD and Blu-ray.

The evil Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong) has mysteriously returned from the dead, and Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) is on the case. With the help of his trusty assistant, Watson (Jude Law), Holmes must assemble the facts, which are far beyond elementary, to solve the crime. Complicating matters further is the return of Holmes’ old fling, Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams).

If you’re into talky period pieces, fancy Downey Jr., and have a taste for mystery, Sherlock Holmes is a good buy. Personally, I would never sit through this film a second time, but it did give Avatar a short run for its money opening weekend. On top of that, most moviegoers enjoyed it more than I did.

There will be two buying options, a DVD version for $28.98 and a BD/DVD combo for $35.99. As reported by DVD Active, the first of the two will come with the “Sherlock Holmes: Reinvented” featurette. Going with the combo pack adds on WB Maximum Movie Mode (Director Guy Ritchie Walk On, Picture-in-Picture, Storyboard Comparisons, Focus Points, Still Gallery Timeline, My Commentary), as well as some deleted scenes and a digital copy of the film.
