Okay, look. Predators wasn't a great movie. It tried a little too hard to constantly reference the original, it didn't break much new ground, and it was hobbled by the fact that its biggest reveal was spoiled by the advertising campaign. But it also wasn't half bad. If you were just looking for the bit of fun the original film gave you, only with more hunters, more prey, and a crazier setting, it wasn't a bad way to kill two hours. I went in with my expectations locked right on the middle line, and dang it, I had a good time with it for what it was. At the very least, anything that helps us collectively forget about the Alien vs. Predator movies is a good thing.

So yeah, Predators may not have been the instant fanboy classic early buzz suggested, but it won't be a bad addition to your DVD collection if you're a fan of the series. Even better, you're going to get a whole mess of extras, son, especially if you opt for the Blu-ray version. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is siccing Predators on us this October 19th on both Blu-ray and DVD. Here's a look at the cover art and the extras.
