Hippies and Na'vi cosplayers rejoice! Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar is coming to Blu-Ray and DVD April 22nd. The soulless capitalist in you will love it because the movie has grossed approximately eighty bazillion dollars to date. The patchouli-smelling tree-hugger in you will love it because it's arriving on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. And the fanboy in you...well, he'll think it's awfully pretty, but it would have been better if Cameron had taken the time to write an actual script as opposed to a shot list.

Fox hasn't released any details as to special features, but it's safe to bet these discs will be packed. It's also safe to bet there will be at least one "Go Green" featurette. If your crib isn't up in North Am, here's the rundown of release dates for the rest of the planet.
