Someone sent me a link to a site called Peekvid earlier this week, but their server was so overloaded I never could get it to load well enough to figure out what it was. There’s a reason they’ve been so busy. Peekvid is the most awesome site ever.
I’m not sure how they do it, and it can’t possibly be legal, but Peekvid has thousand and thousands of new movies, television shows, and cartoons available for viewing on their site. In some cases it’s only in the form of clips, but in many instance they have full television episodes and new movies available for viewing online, any time, for absolutely free.
There are of course a few big companies starting to offer television shows and movies for download. But in all cases they’re charging a fee, and worse, they usually have a pretty limited selection. Sure you can download episodes of Battlestar Galactica off iTunes if you’re willing to pay, or you can buy the box sets, but can you get Farscape or Firefly, and for absolutely no charge? How about free episodes of Grey’s Anatomy? Heroes?
Or maybe you want to run out and buy a movie. Why not just watch A Scanner Darkly on your computer for free, before deciding if you want to own it? Worried about global warming? Click and watch An Inconvenient Truth.
Click over there while you can, because the people involved are likely to end up arrested and thrown in Chinese prison any minute. They boast 20,000 videos online, that could mean 20,000 individual lawsuits from the MPAA. Or has someone figured out a way to do this legally? It’s not like they’re hiding. Check it out for yourself here. Legal, or soon to be eliminated?

You might also want to try some of the services listed over at Greg's HTPC blog at http://gregtvhomeentertainment.blogspot.com/. He has some really good products listed i''ve downloaded a few and have since gained about 2,500 movies and about 200 full seasons of tv shows. Have also canceled my tv cable service needless to say.. haha :) ALL LEGAL AS WELL!
I've watched a few movies and shows on peekvid now, it's pretty good, though not all of the movies worked. Adam, you said "its totally legal imho" well, I glad your having an opinion magically makes that site legal. lol. There is NO way it is legal, look at napster and so on. My advice, watch the vids now before they're gone.
great website, amazing and free, its totally legal imho and the number of visitors show people like it, the MPAA can stick their hdtv copy protection mafia rackets up their asses

As far as i know, the only illegal thing about that site could be, that it "directs" people to illegal content.
They don't host those files, they redirect you to youtube, dailymotion etc.
However, the content is clearly not allowed to be uploaded to those sites, as it has copyright. So the content is illegal, but peekvid is, in fact, in a blurry grayzone. Youtube itself isn't illegal, but uploading copyrighted stuff to Youtube is ! Read their terms of service, they clearly don't allow that. People uploading this stuff can get in REAL trouble.
However, the question remains if it is legal or not to WATCH it.
I think it is "more" legal than downloading it via BitTorrent or eMule, because you are not shareing it !
Btw, there are many other sites like this: alluc.org, Guba.com (though Guba uses another technique to get the vids, afaik), etc
P.S.: dailyepisodes.com has closed its doors because FOX sent the admin a little email and he feared he might get sued.
I thing the question whether it's legal to watch it depends on the laws of your homecountry. Don't know for sure though.
It is, most likely, not really legal...
And, if you like peekvid, you might be interested in its "Sister", keepvid.com, which allows you to "archive" those streams on your harddrive, which, if those streams have copyright, is definitely illegal in most countries. Keepvid itself, again, isn't.
