It’s a little weird to get an announcement that Lost Season 4 will be coming to DVD in December. After all, the season just jumped back into high gear with its remaining episodes (thanks, writers’ strike!). The last thing anyone wants to think of is such a long delay before getting the chance to watch the show. December 9th is when we’ll get the next season on DVD, though, which means those new episodes will be tying up valuable hours on your DVRs for months to come.

As with the previous episodes, the fourth season is being advertised as an expanded experience, with featurettes giving more information about the new freighter folk and the use of weapons and music on the show, as well as bloopers, commentaries, and deleted scenes. We’ve listed the announced features below, although they may change sometime between now and December.

We’ve also included the artwork and for the first time I’m unimpressed with what’s been released. The photoshop work on this seems choppy in a lot of places, and I’m surprised the new characters haven’t been added to the lineup (maybe that should tell us something about the remaining episodes). I’m hoping that choppiness is to simulate the packaging that has shown up on the previous versions, where that lineup is on a transparent piece that contains the main packaging, but it’s a terrible looking piece of art even if that’s the case.
