Marvel may have their shit together better than DC on the film front these days, but I have to say that DC is miles ahead of Marvel when it comes to their animated properties. Even putting aside the justifiably praised Batman animated series and its numerous spin-offs, DC’s new wave of direct-to-dvd animated flicks have brought us highlights like Justice League: The New Frontier and Green Lantern: First Flight. I’ll take those over Hulk Vs. any day.
Next up is a return of the big guns with Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, flying onto DVD and Blu-ray this February 23rd. Longtime DC fanboys will be excited to see the Justice League squaring off against their alternate-Earth villainous counterparts, the Crime Syndicate, alongside an heroic alternate Lex Luthor (who inexplicably does not sport a goatee, as all proper doubles should). DC animated universe vet Dwayne McDuffie is scripting, with Bruce Timm yet again handling producing duties. The usual array of recognizable voice talent includes Mark Harmon as Superman, William Baldwin as Batman, James Woods as Owlman, Gina Torres as Super Woman, and Chris Noth as Lex Luthor.
Here’s the trailer to get you ready for heroes-on-villains-who-look-vaguely-similar action this February.
