Meet Your Avatar When Gamer Hits DVD In January
With Microsoft hard at work revolutionizing the gaming world with their controller-free system Project Natal, the whole mind-control nanite thing in Gamer could be next. Gaming becomes as real and violent as ever when Lionsgate Home Entertainment releases Gamer on DVD and Blu-ray January 19th, 2010.
Michael C. Hall is Ken Castle, the creator of the wildly popular game “Slayers.” Using self-replicating nanites, complete control of a person’s motor functions can be granted to a third party. In “Slayers,” death row prisoners are forced to relinquish all control to kids like Simon (Logan Lerman). Simon has kept his avatar, Kable (Gerard Butler), alive for a record-breaking 27 death matches. It may be all fun and games to the players behind the controls, but the avatars are real people with real problems and emotions. Desperate to reunite with his family, Kable is determined to do whatever it takes to escape the game and regain his freedom.
