This week is a really sad week when it comes to DVD releases. There are a couple of decent classics coming out on Blu-ray and a lot of entertaining TV shows on DVD, but nothing really stands out as being worth highlighting, let alone worth writing a few sentences about.

Still, something has to be said here, so here’s my suggestion - play catch up. Take a look at some DVD that might still be in the plastic, sitting there on the shelf, collecting dust. If you’re really desperate for a new release, might I suggest checking out Frozen River, which came out on DVD earlier in the month and might have gone completely unnoticed if not for the Oscar nominations it picked up. I still haven’t seen it, but our DVD review is so positive, I think it might be the perfect thing to catch in a week of doldrums.
