Nobody's quite seemed to crack the Hulk code on the big screen so far (even if the Norton outing was loads better than the Ang Lee version), but whoever's in charge of Marvel animation certainly seems to have a soft spot for the big, green guy. Hulk Vs. hit last January, pitting puny Banner's raging id against Thor and Wolverine. Just a little over a year later, Planet Hulk is set to rampage into your living room this February 2nd, courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment and Marvel Animated Features.
Fans will recognize the title from an ongoing storyline in the comics a few years back. As with those comics, this incarnation of Planet Hulk sees the less-than-jolly green giant being banished from Earth and winding up stranded on an alien world. From there, it's just a matter of time before somebody makes him angry, and...well, you know.
As is more or less standard these days, Planet Hulk will arrive as a Blu-ray ($29.98), a two-disc DVD ($24.98), and a one-disc version ($19.98). If you crave the most bang for your buck, the Blu-ray and two-disc set will include audio commentaries, featurettes, music videos, an episode of Wolverine and the X-Men featuring His Hulkiness, a couple of "Marvel motion comics," and whatever else they decide to cram on there between now and February. If you want to go cheap, the single-disc comes with a commentary, a featurette, and a sneak peak at Marvel Animated's next outing, Thor: Tales of Asgard.
