Glee has turned into one of this season's big hits, and fans of the show will be able to add the first season to their collection on December 29th -- well, part of the first season, anyway. Since the back half of the season won't actually have aired yet, this will actually be Glee Season 1, Volume 1: Road to the Sectionals, featuring the first 13 episodes. Presumably it will be followed sometime this summer by Glee Season 1, Volume 2: Judgment Day. Because why sell us one set when they could sell us two?
Created by Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck), Glee focuses on the once-flourishing glee club at William McKinley High School. Spanish teacher Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) takes the reigns of the club and helps transform the inevitably diverse and ragtag band of students into the only fighting force capable of defending our world from an impending invasion by six-armed ninjas from Reticulum, all through the power of song. I may have made some of that up, but I'd also be a lot more likely to watch that show. The set currently lists for $39.98, and in addition to the 13 episodes, you'll get the Director's cut of the pilot, several behind-the-scenes featurettes, audition tapes of the cast, and selections from the show's takes on various pop-culture hits like Queen's "Somebody to Love" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." |
