Rob Schneider Heads Straight To DVD

By Rafe Telsch: 2008-12-18 22:15:12
Rob Schneider Heads Straight To DVD I thought we were lucky. Rob Schneider seemed to disappear out of leading man territory after quite the series of flops. If The Animal and The Benchwarmers weren’t enough of a sign that Schneider just shouldn’t lead comedies, his sequel, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo did. Let’s face it - playing second fiddle to Adam Sandler works for Schneider, but leading a movie just isn’t a good idea.

Someone at Warner Brothers must not have gotten the message about Schneider, because he now has a direct-to-DVD movie coming to stores March 24th. Big Stan sees Schneider as a con man who is caught and found guilty of cheating the elderly. Life in prison proves to be potentially popular for Stan, who turns to the help of “the Master” (David Carradine) to learn how to defend himself. As the tagline reads, “He’ll have to kick some butt to save his own.”

The movie is coming to DVD and Blu-ray with a minimum of bonus material, including a commentary from Schneider, who also directed Big Stan, a featurette looking at the making of the movie, and an outtakes/bloopers reel.
