Rumors Of Deleted Harry Potter Material

One of the benefits of having hundreds of pages to weed out to adapt Harry Potter from page to screen is that there is plenty of material around for deleted scenes. Frankly, I still think Warner Brothers is missing the boat by not pulling a Peter Jackson and filming longer versions of the stories for DVD release. Still, every Harry Potter DVD release has included deleted material and it appears Order of the Phoenix will be no different.
Although Warner Brothers hasn’t put out any official word on a DVD release date for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, some of the fan sites out there have managed to get their hands on a predicted list of deleted scenes. The list comes from The Leaky Cauldron, who got the information from the British Board of Film Classification, who listed these scenes as being included on the upcoming DVD: 00:02:31:17 "TRELAWNY EATING" 00:00:13:08 "NEVILLE SPEAKS UP FOR HARRY" 00:00:26:02 "STEADY CAM AROUND" 00:02:46:18 "UMBRIDGE QUESTIONS TRELAWNY" 00:00:17:21 "MALFOY, CRABBE AND GOYLE BULLY A STUDENT" 00:00:21:06 "FILTCH BLOWS ON UMBRIDGE'S HAIR" 00:01:47:14 "HARRY HERMIONE AND UMBRIDGE - EXTENDED" 00:00:37:22 "HARRY ENTERS" 00:01:07:23 "HARRY AND RON PACKING Those numbers are the running time for each scene, for a total running time of just over ten minutes – not a ton of deleted material, but still a decent amount. In particular I can’t wait for that “Umbridge Questions Trelawny” scene which was one part I felt was missing from the adaptation. Keep in mind, however, that these aren’t official. The site also talks about a rumored November 12th release for the fifth movie in the series. If this is true, Warner Brothers should be releasing details any day now.
