See Dead People With Ghost Town On DVD And Blu-Ray

See Dead People With Ghost Town On DVD And Blu-Ray It’s like the Sixth Sense with a comedic twist. Meet another person who can see dead people when Paramount Home Entertainment releases Ghost Town on DVD and Blu-ray December 28th.

Out of all jobs to have, being a doctor would require the ability to communicate well with other people the most. Who would want to see a doctor with a bad bedside manner? Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais) doesn’t seem to care about that concept. This New York City dentist is the complete opposite of a people person. Well, that’s going to have to change. After a dental procedure gone wrong, Bertram is pronounced dead but miraculously revives minutes later. He’s the same old grumpy dentist before the incident except for one little thing; he can see and speak to dead people. Word spreads throughout the spirit community and Bertram ends up with nearly every phantom in Manhattan knocking on his door for assistance with their unfinished business. One ghost in particular, Frank Herlihy (Greg Kinnear), is determined to stop his widow, Gwen (Tea Leoni), from getting remarried. This get complicated when in an effort to help Frank, Bertram starts to fall for Gwen himself.

This clever story could be an uplifting way to ring in the New Year. Between the comedy of Ricky Gervais and the absurdity of the story line, you’re bound to have a smile on your face at the movie’s end. The smile doesn’t even have to fade there. The movie is accompanied by four extras: commentary by director David Koepp and Ricky Gervais, a making of the movie featurette, a “Ghostly Effects” featurette and a third featurette called “Some People Can Do It.” For over an hour and a half of wholesome fun, I’d spend the $19.99 on the DVD or the $29.99 on the blu-ray disc.
