Something which appears to be the first teaser trailer for Sony’s all computer animated Resident Evil sequel has just popped up online. It looks legit, though it’s a little early to be sure.

The movie, entitled Biohazard: Degeneration is set seven years after the initial disaster at Raccoon City. So, if my timeline is right, that’d mean it takes place between the second and third theatrical movies. The film exists completely independent from the stories we’ve seen in the live action versions, which means no Alice, or any of the other characters you’re used to from the movies.

This one however, won’t be in theaters. It’s being done by Sony Home Entertainment, and that means a release direct to DVD. Watch the trailer below and expect it on DVD some time in 2008.
