With all the buzz over Michael Bay's upcoming live action Transformers movie we should have seen this coming. Whoops.

The word is out that the original, animated, Transformers: The Movie is being re-released on DVD in a sweet looking 2-disc, 20th Anniversary Edition. The set will be packaged in a smart looking 3-D lenticular cover featuring your favorite robot heroes transforming. Inside the package, the movie will be presented as you've never seen it at home before… in a newly remastered, color-corrected anamorphic widescreen edition.

Yeah it comes in fullscreen too. What's wrong with you?

The disc is powered up with extras aplenty. The full list of features is still to be released, but expect a full slate of interviews and commentaries. They're promising a full 5 hours of bonus material in all. For more information, visit the DVD's official site here.
