Video Clips From Pineapple Express On DVD

I didn’t catch Pineapple Express in theaters, partly due to missing press screening opportunities at San Diego Comic Con and partially because once it reached theaters I didn’t hear very good things. Since then most of the buzz surrounding the movie included one key word: disappointing.
I may have to disagree with those assessments of Seth Rogen’s reefer comedy. Sony Pictures sent over a batch of clips from the picture and they look pretty funny to me. Sure, it’s possible that these clips represent the best the movie has to offer, but I laughed at least a couple of times, particularly watching Seth Rogen and James Franco flee from the cops in the “Police Chase” scene. For those who want a taste of what to find from the DVD, which hits stores tomorrow, the last clip below is a gag reel - although I can’t say I classify footage of crotch grabbing really a “gag”. Still, some of the outtake material is funny, and it’s short. On top of the clips, Sony is also promoting the DVD release with two games over on their home video site: Pineapple Packer and Crystal Bowl. Pineapple Express hits DVD in single disc rated and unrated editions, a two disc special edition, and a Blu-ray release on January 6th.
