Video Clips: See Behind The Scenes Of Hellboy II

Video Clips: See Behind The Scenes Of Hellboy II Next week sees the return of Big Red on DVD and Blu-ray, as Hellboy II: The Golden Army comes home. The release is nothing short of packed on bonus material, whether it’s the three disc DVD edition or the Blu-ray version of Hellboy’s second movie.

One of the big pieces on the DVD is the documentary “Hellboy - In Service of a Demon,” a two-hour look behind the scenes of The Golden Army that hits on many different aspects of making the movie. Universal has been kind enough to send over a few clips from the documentary, hitting on the heavier creature approach to making the movie, the casting of Prince Nuada and Princess Nuala, and having Seth MacFarlane (The Family Guy) step into the role of Johann Krauss.

Even just looking at these four brief pieces, notice how much of what Guillermo del Toro puts on screen is achieved through practical effects. This is why this is the perfect guy to take what Peter Jackson started and continue the story of Middle Earth with The Hobbit. It’s really amazing how much he’s willing to use practical effects in a world so driven by digital ones.

Take a look at the clips from “In the Service of a Demon” below and pick up Hellboy II: The Golden Army on DVD and Blu-ray on November 11th.
