Waitress fans should be happy to see Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion are reuniting for another project. Comic book fans, which out number Waitress fans will be the ones to truly benefit, however, as Fillion joins the voice cast for the upcoming direct-to-DVD animated Wonder Woman movie.

Worlds Finest Online is reporting the addition of Fillion, who will voice the mundane Steve Trevor to Russell’s Wonder Woman. Frankly, there’s something about that alone that amuses me. I’d almost love to see this as a live action picture, just so we can see Fillion’s facial reactions to a costumed character being more powerful than he is.

This isn’t Fillion’s first time lending his voice to the DC Comics universe. The Firefly actor voiced Viglilante in the animated series Justice League Unlimited.

The Wonder Woman direct-to-DVD feature is currently scheduled for a late 2008 or early 2009 release.
